Lillie to make TCM return at Mount Panorama
TWO-TIME Gulf Western Oil Touring Car Masters race winner Dean Lillie will make a return to the category at the Mount Panorama season finale later this month.
Lillie will take over driving duties of long-time teammate Jim Pollicina’s Holden Torana sedan for the four races at Bathurst, marking his first TCM starts since the 2020 Adelaide 500 season opener – the only round held last year.
Lillie, who via his Ravage Raceworks operation has prepared Pollicina’s racing equipment for years, has won twice in his brief TCM career.
His first win came at Sandown Raceway in 2018 driving Pollicina’s HQ Monaro GTS, before he claimed a win in Adelaide after holding out John Bowe in the trophy race that weekend – Pollicina completing the podium.
“Gotta say I’m pretty chuffed to be hitting Mount Panorama in a few weeks!” Lillie posted on his Facebook page.
“I’ve pinched Jim Pollicina’s keys once again (Thanks Jim) and will be punting his ex MSR Torana around the mountain in the Pro Am class of the Gulf Western Oils Touring Car Masters!
“This is one seriously quick bit of kit, with 630 KRE Race Engine horses under the loud pedal.
“I’d like to introduce Reach Rock Art, coming on board as my naming rights partner for the Bathurst event, along with Brypar brakes, MoComm Motorsports Communication and Ravage Raceworks.”
The Touring Car Masters field will tackle four races across the Mount Panorama event with action commencing on Tuesday, November 30.
